Grei (she/they) is a poet, filmmaker, and educator from Queens, NY. Grei has been a featured poet at the New York City Poetry Festival, Legendary SOBS, SUNY Old Westbury, DePauw University, Triad Theater, and several popular open mic venues in New York City. She has been published in several anthologies from the Dominican Writers Association, as well as Sarah Lawrence College’s “Lumina Journal." Grei is a former 2018-2019 Fulbright U.S Student Researcher and conducted research on the intersections of film and folklore in the Dominican Republic, where they created their award-winning short film “Si Ardiera La Ciudad.” Grei is a member of artist collective Masqueerade, where they co-host a monthly open mic for queer identifying people. Grei is also the co-founder of the multidisciplinary artist safe haven, The Tiny Hat Party. For Grei, the arts are essential to understanding the self, community, and the secret inner workings of the universe.
